Wash. Lt. Gov's Son Wounded in Workplace Shooting

One of the sons of Washington state Lt. Gov. Brad Owen was shot in a workplace dispute in a Seattle suburb on Monday. According to the elder Owen, Mark Owen had a meeting with Carlos Fernandez, his business partner at KBP & Fabrications in Kent, Wash, that did not go well. The lieutenant governor added that when his son tried to leave, Fernandez confronted him and shot him. Brad Owen added that Fernandez, who had a rocky relationship with Mark Owen over the last several years, suffered life-threatening injuries after shooting himself in the head. However, police have not confirmed that Fernandez was the shooter. Mark Owen was found a block away from the scene with a friend who was trying to take him to the hospital. He is currently in satisfactory condition at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
