May 5, 2009- Albuquerque, NM-- It happens again! Name change. Legit Security employees were praying for a long overdue payday today and showed up at the company office to collect their pay and found this flier instead, along with a repo man or two...
Of course, the address and phone number are registered to Legit Security, no surprise. We found out that ICU Security and Charles Chavez were renting the office space at the address below "by the hour and paying cash." Two former Legit employees saw others moving cars from the new office we discovered this morning to another location. They were overheard talking about removing the decals of the cars.
ICU Security and Investigations is another unlicensed company. I verified it myself today with the NM Private Investigator's Board (recorded). They have no corporation filing in the state computer, no worker's compensation insurance and just got a City of Albuquerque zoning permit on Friday. This is not a license to operate!
No one knows "Ron Haley" but they do know Charles Chavez (President) who was Legit's Marketing Director. I have another recorded conversation with ICU's secretary "Lauren" who states that Charles Chavez has three companies that she answers the phone- Legit Security, Empire Security and ICU Security. She said that she only started answering phones today but it looks like she will be looking for new work as ICU has already moved...
We received over fifteen statements from former Legit Security employees in our office today. All had very sad stories of no payment, bounced checks and bad treatment. We understand that almost all of the regular workers (non-big-time supervisors) didn't get paid at all. The Taos employees are supposedly going to be paid by Charles Chavez tonight in cash but they were previously told the money would be there at 9A.M.
What will the state do? Law enforcement, District Attorneys in three counties or the press? I guess you will just have to wait and see. Does anyone remember that silly award that Legit got a few months ago from the New Mexico Business Weekly Paper? One of New Mexico's Best places to work... LOL. Way to go Legit!
