Fayetteville Ark. April 24 2009 Police say that a shoplifter being detained by loss prevention agents at a local Wal-Mart pulled a knife while in the security office and began stabbing himself and cutting his neck.
Officers arrived to find the suspect bleeding from his throat and neck area still holding the knife and was able to subdue him and transport him to an area hospital.
The shoplifter died a short time later.
Police say that the man had a prior felony record and it is not known why he committed suicide but the investigation is on-going.
