It is no secret that we are in a poor economy. Businesses are downsizing and some are reducing security as a cost-cutting measure. I believe that is a mistake and it exposes businesses to risks such as crime, theft and litigation by people injured as a result of the reduction in security. Crime rates continue to rise and property crime theft is skyrocketing.
It is harder to find and keep a security job in many sectors of the New Mexico security industry. Applicants are having to compete for jobs and employers can choose candidates with better experience and training.
It is a good time to be a security employer. I feel that my employee's work ethic is better than ever and that people are focusing on keeping their jobs by providing our clients with better services. Employees don't want to lose a good job with health insurance benefits and training.
