I received this e-mail today from the guys who went with the Albuquerque Police Department to Legit Security's office. Last week they were told "the check is in the mail" but of course it didn't come. This is an update to the New Mexico Department of Labor's pursuit of Legit Security for unpaid wages.
Find excerpts below:
I went to the DOL yesterday to get my case number for my complaint. turns out the DOL had sent a 10 day warning to legit about what's been going on with the complaints and their 10 day notice expires Wednesday. after that, the DOL is sending a subpoena to them to appear in court.
over 20 (complaints from individuals), that's all i know. the DOL will want everyone who filed complaints to get their paperwork together of any fines, fees, etc. that were incurred while the checks were bouncing (damage deposits, late fees, etc.) and they will add all of that to the other money legit owes everyone. come wednesday if they don't respond to the DOL, they're gonna get hit pretty hard. i found gil's email address and sent him an email the other day asking about the checks. no response. it wasn't even a nasty email, just asking a man-to-man question about where the hell my check was, and if it even EXISTED.
If you are owed money by an employer contact the New Mexico Department of Labor, Wage and Hour Division.
If you received payroll checks that "bounced" then make your complaint also with the New Mexico Attorney General.
If you are owed money because you cashed a payroll check that bounced or you work for a collection agency pursuing the collection of this debt then contact the New Mexico Attorney General.
